Country of origin

Austria

Description

The wine is characterized by a pure grape aroma. It is very juicy, and the acidity makes this wine a very pleasant experience. Thanks to its minerals, the wine is very long, even though the body is medium, very fruity, reminiscent of green apples and fresh grapes, with a long, gently spicy finish that goes all the way to white pepper, which is typical for Veltliner.

Deep minerality has its origin in the stony soils of Spitzer Graben, on whose terraces the grapes for Federspiel ripen. The delicate, creamy and juicy texture is tempered by vibrant acidity; the body is precise, elegant and tightly woven. rohlik. rohlik. cz/uploads/images/K%C3%A1ja/bile3. png" width="750" loading="lazy">

About Manufacturer

Mr. Piewald’s vineyards are spread across the Wachau region near the town of Spitz, covering 4.5 hectares, with an average vine age of 30 years. All vineyards are tended by hand and are located on terraces at an altitude of approximately 400–600 m above sea level. The soil is highly mineral, with granite and gneiss, which is why the wines are so spicy and seductive in expression. The designation Federspiel translates as falconry, which is very popular in the Wachau, and it denotes the mid-tier category of wines.
