Wash the pears, remove the cores, and cut them into thick slices.

In a bowl, whisk 2 eggs with milk, add flour, cane sugar, cinnamon, seeds from the vanilla pod, lemon zest, baking soda, and salt. Mix into a smooth, thicker batter similar to pancake batter.

Heat a thin layer of oil or butter in a pan. Gradually dip the pear slices into the batter so they are completely coated, and place them immediately in the pan.
